Case Description
On April 12, 2022, in Mariupol, the occupied part of the Donetsk region, four Ukrainian citizens were taken prisoner by Russian military personnel: Sergey Mishchenko, Artem Zhura, Denis Sivets, and Gennady Trufin, servicemen of the mortar battery of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They were accused of cruel treatment of the civilian population, intentional damage to other people's property, and attempted murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group, in a manner dangerous to the public, motivated by political and ideological hatred. Sergey Mishchenko and Denis Sivtsov were also accused of organizing these crimes.
