Case Description
In September 2024, a new criminal case was opened against Roman Shport - on confidential cooperation with a foreign state to the detriment of the Russian Federation. The pretext for the accusation was correspondence with the alleged 'Freedom of Russia' legion. According to the investigation, the man wrote to the email of "LSR" and planned to distribute leaflets calling for joining the "Legion. The correspondence consisted of only four messages, two of which belonged to Shport. On November 28, 2024, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow placed the case's defendant in a pre-trial detention center. On April 28, 2025, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow found Roman Shport guilty and, by partially combining it with the previous sentence, sentenced him to 6 years in a general regime colony. On September 22, 2025, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction changed the verdict, details are unknown. On January 3, 2023, a search was conducted at the homes of local activists Roman Shport and Alexey Isakov in Moscow." 3. A criminal case was opened against them for aiding terrorist activities. According to the investigation, Shport and Isakov were engaged in pasting leaflets in the Piatniki area, which contained a QR code calling for joining the "Russian Volunteer Corps. 4 January 2023 the Lyublinsky District Court of Moscow chose a measure of restraint for both in the form of detention. Later, the charge was reclassified to justifying terrorism. January 15, 2024, the 2nd Western District Military Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Roman Shport to two years and three months and Alexei Isakov to two years in a penal colony-settlement. On March 18, 2024, the Appellate Military Court upheld the verdict.
