Case Description
In Ufa, at the end of March 2024, local journalist Olga Komleva was detained. First she was taken for questioning at the Investigative Committee as a witness, after which she was detained for 48 hours to question her as a defendant on charges of participating in an extremist community. According to the version of the security forces, Komleva, under the influence of propaganda of the activities of the extremist community FBK ("Navalny's Team"), disseminated on Internet resources, voluntarily joined the extremist community." "On March 28, 2024, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa, at the request of the deputy head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, chose to detain Komleva by placing her in custody. On July 23, 2024, Komleva was charged with a new charge - of spreading 'fakes' about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. It is unknown what became the reason for the new accusation. On July 29, 2025, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, found Olga Komleva guilty and sentenced her to 12 years in prison.
