Gordeev Nazariy Viktorovich (Gordyeyev Nazar Viktorovich)

On April 14, 2022, in Berdyansk, in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, a 26-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen Nazarii Hordieiev, left his home and disappeared. A week later, Russian soldiers came to the man's family home and brought Nazar with them. Armed men arrived in several cars, broke into the house, damaged the gates, and broke down the door. Nazar's wife Anastasia was at home with their child and her father. Nazar himself was brought in beaten, unable to stand on his feet, and was being held up. Two weeks later, a propaganda segment was shown on the Russian TV channel "Crimea 24" in a news program. Among other things, it showed a pistol among children's belongings, and Hordieiev himself said on video that while serving in the "Azov" National Guard regiment, he had fired at residential areas, which he allegedly learned about later. According to the testimony of a man who was held with Nazar, Hordieiev agreed to appear in the video after Russian soldiers threatened to harm his family. Nazar was transferred from the police station to Berdyansk Correctional Colony No. 77. There, the Ukrainian was kept in inhumane conditions, subjected to beatings and torture. Nazar was taken away every other day, beaten, and brought back to his cell unconscious. A doctor was only called when the man remained unconscious for several hours. At the end of June, Hordieiev's relatives were informed that the man had been transferred to Donetsk. A criminal case was opened against Hordieiev for participation in a terrorist organization. Most likely, the charge is related to the fact that he served in the "Azov" Ministry of Internal Affairs regiment from 2018 to 2020. On December 1, 2023, the Southern District Military Court found Nazarii Hordieiev guilty and sentenced him to 7.6 years of imprisonment. The verdict was not appealed and entered into force.
