Case Description
In April 2024, a criminal case for calls for terrorism was opened against a 16-year-old teenager Ali Rinat in the Stavropol Territory. According to the investigation, on the night of April 3-4, a ninth-grader was pasting leaflets that contained information about the events in Bucha: "More than 400 people died in the village of Bucha as a result of war crimes committed by the Armed Forces of Russia; This is not liberation, This is genocide, the leaflets said, which the teenager allegedly pasted on the night of April 3-4. The leaflets also featured a photo of a destroyed building, the inscription "Freedom of Russia", and a link to the Telegram channel of the "Freedom of Russia" legion. For the duration of the investigation, the young man was taken under a written undertaking not to leave. A month later, the charges against Ali were toughened: the teenager was accused of aiding terrorist activities, participating in a terrorist organization, public calls for terrorism, as well as robbery and theft committed by a group of persons. According to the security forces, Ali persuaded one of his friends - 19-year-old Denis Dovydenko. 3. — participation in the banned terrorist Legion "Freedom of Russia. Like Ali, Denis began distributing leaflets in support of the Legion fighting on the side of Ukraine. He was accused of "calls for terrorism. Ali was placed under house arrest, and Denis was released on his own recognizance not to leave. 28 November 2025, the Southern Military District Court found the defendants guilty, the amount of punishment is unknown.
