Case Description
On January 14, 2025, in the city of Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, 39-year-old David Fedorenko, a local resident with a criminal record, was detained. A criminal case was opened against him for preparing a terrorist attack. According to the investigation, Fedorenko engaged in correspondence via the Telegram messenger with an unidentified person who offered him monetary compensation to set fire to a government or social institution building in Achinsk. Fedorenko agreed, choosing a post office branch as his target. He purchased components for making an incendiary mixture, but was unable to complete the crime as he was detained by FSB officers. 16 January 2025, the Achinsk City Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory sent a man into custody. 12 September 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found David Fedorenko guilty and, by fully combining the sentence with the verdict of the Achinsk City Court dated 10 September 2025, sentenced him to 5 years' imprisonment with the first 2 years to be served in prison, the remaining term in a strict regime colony, and a fine of 10 thousand. rubles. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
