Case Description
On October 6, 2022, in the city of Goryachy Klyuch, Krasnodar Territory, an unknown person attempted to set fire to a military enlistment office by throwing two bottles with a flammable mixture into the building. The bottles broke in the vestibule of the entrance, the guard and duty military personnel extinguished the fire, and the fire did not cause any damage. On October 9, Boris Goncharenko, a 34-year-old teacher from Krasnodar, and Bogdan Abdurakhmanov, a 27-year-old native of Minsk, were detained on charges of arson. They were accused of committing a terrorist act by a group of persons acting in collusion. Both men were sent to a pre-trial detention center by the court. Later, the charges against the defendants in the case were reclassified: Abdurakhmanov was charged with committing a terrorist act, and Goncharenko with aiding terrorism. According to the investigation, the latter only prepared the liquid for arson. On January 13, 2025, the Southern Military District Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Boris Honcharenko to 12 years in a strict regime colony with the first 4.5 years to be served in prison, and Bohdan Abdurakhmanov to 13 years in a strict regime colony with the first 4.5 years to be served in prison.
