В Москве в начале августа 2026 года Тверская межрайонная прокуратура инициировала уголовное преследование против журналиста Александра Баунова. Его обвинили в участии в деятельности иностранной организации, признанной нежелательной на территории России.
По версии прокуратуры, Баунов продолжает участвовать в деятельности американского «Фонда Карнеги за Международный Мир» («Carnegie Endowment for International Peace»), несмотря на то, что ранее его привлекали к административной ответственности за аналогичные действия.
