Case Description
In the village of Ivanovskoye, Donetsk region, in August and September 2024, four Ukrainian citizens, servicemen of the 24th separate assault battalion "Aidar" Vadim Tivonenko, Oleg Doga, Vladislav Gurin and Zoltan Bodok were taken prisoner. Later, in October 2024, a criminal case was opened against the captured servicemen for participation in a terrorist organization. According to the Russian prosecutor's office, the defendants acted as part of the separate assault battalion "Aidar, performed various tasks at temporary deployment points in the cities of Druzhkovka and Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, and participated in hostilities against servicemen of the RF Armed Forces at a combat position in the settlement of Ivanovskoye. On October 23, 2024, the Lenin District Court of Lugansk selected a measure of restraint in the form of detention for each of them. In March and April 2025, the Southern Military District Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Vadim Tivonenko, Oleg Dogi, Vladislav Gurin and Zoltan Bodok to 12 years in prison, with the first 3 years to be served in prison, and the rest in a strict regime correctional colony. The sentences were not appealed and entered into legal force.
