Case Description
In Krasnoyarsk, in October 2024, 58-year-old local resident Yuriy Sologub was detained. He was accused of calling for terrorism, participating in the activities of a terrorist organization, and treason. According to the security forces, the man was pasting up leaflets of the 'Freedom of Russia' legion with calls to join the formation and sent a photo report of the work done to a representative of the organization. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was sent to a pre-trial detention center. September 9, 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Yuriy Sologub guilty and sentenced him to 20 years in prison, with the first 3 years to be served in a prison, and the remaining part in a strict regime colony, with a 2-year restriction of freedom. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
