Case Description
On October 18, 2023, a search was conducted at the parents' home of Yulia Fayzrakhmanova, a journalist for "Aktivatica, in Kazan as part of a preliminary investigation into a case of calls for terrorism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was most likely Fayzrakhmanova's speech at the 'Free Russia Forum,' in which the journalist called on Tatars to speak out in support of Ukraine. In addition, security forces accuse the woman of "supporting LGBT." Fayzrakhmanova is outside of Russia.
