Case Description
In Orenburg in March 2024, a criminal case was opened for organizing the activities of an extremist organization in connection with the activities of the LGBT club "Pose. As part of the case, the art director of the club, Alexander Klimov, and the club administrator, Diana Kamillyanova, were detained. On March 20, 2024, Judge Rusela Mayasrova of the Central District Court of Orenburg granted the prosecution's motion and chose detention as a preventive measure for both defendants." Earlier, activists from some "Russian Community of Orenburg" reported on the club. Following this, on March 9, security forces, together with activists, raided Pose and forced those who had come to the party to lie face down on the floor. On March 28, 2024, the owner of the Pose club was detained at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow. On March 31, the Central District Court of Orenburg sent him to a pre-trial detention center. The name of the defendant is not disclosed. The investigation believes that the club owner selected staff, approved drag artists, posted photos and videos of performances "promoting non-traditional sexual relationships and preferences" in a Telegram channel, and controlled the financial and economic activities. 29 May 2024, the Orenburg Regional Court changed the measure of restraint for Alexander Klimov to house arrest. In August 2024, Diana Kamillyanova was also released from the pre-trial detention center under house arrest.
