Case Description

1. On October 31, 2022, in Chita, security forces detained underage anarchists Aleksandr Snezhkov and Lyubov Lizunova. The detention occurred when they were applying graffiti "Death to the regime." Searches were conducted in the anarchists' apartments, and their electronic devices were confiscated. They were charged with "vandalism" motivated by political hatred and released on a written undertaking not to leave. After examining the young people's phones, Snezhkov and Lizunova were accused of administering two Telegram channels - "75zlo" and "Shugani-25," which published information about protests against the war in Ukraine, partisan actions, and animal protection. The security forces were interested in a publication that expressed approval of arson attacks on military enlistment offices and rail resistance. Additional charges of calling for terrorist activities and extremism were added to their case. On January 30, 2023, the Ingodinsky District Court of Chita sent Aleksandr Snezhkov to a pre-trial detention center in Omsk, while Lyubov Lizunova was placed under house arrest. It is assumed that the formal reason for changing the measure of restraint was their alleged violation of the written undertaking not to leave. After the case was transferred to court, another suspect in the case was revealed - Vladislav Vishnevsky. He was also charged with "vandalism" motivated by political hatred and calls for extremism. The date of his detention and the measure of restraint are unknown. On April 10, 2024, the court changed the measure of restraint for Lyubov Lizunova and sent her to a pre-trial detention center. On April 25, 2024, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Aleksandr Snezhkov and Lyubov Lizunova to six and three and a half years in a general regime colony, respectively, and Vladislav Vishnevsky to one and a half years of compulsory labor. At the same time, the court terminated Lizunova's criminal case regarding vandalism for the graffiti due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing her to responsibility. On November 25, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict unchanged.
