Case Description
On October 31, 2022, in Chita, security forces detained underage anarchists Alexander Snezhkov and Lyubov Lizunova. The detention took place when they were painting graffiti "Death to the regime. Searches were conducted in the apartments of anarchists, and their equipment was confiscated. They were charged with 'vandalism' motivated by political hatred and released on their own recognizance not to leave. After examining the phones of the young people, Snezkov and Lizunova were accused of administering two Telegram channels—"75zlo" and "Shugani-25"—which published information about protests against the war in Ukraine, partisan actions, and animal protection. Law enforcement's interest was attracted by a publication that expressed approval of arson attacks on military enlistment offices and rail resistance. Additional charges of calling for terrorist activity and extremism were added to him. On January 30, 2023, the Ingodinsky District Court of Chita sent Alexander Snezhkov to the pre-trial detention center in Omsk, while Lyubov Lizaunova was placed under house arrest. It is assumed that the formal reason for changing the measure of restraint was their alleged violation of the undertaking not to leave." After the case was transferred to the court, it became known about another defendant in the case - Vladislav Vishnevsky. He was also accused of "vandalism" motivated by political hatred and calls for extremism. Date of detention and measure of restraint are unknown. On April 10, 2024, the court changed the measure of restraint for Lyubov Lizunova and sent her to a pre-trial detention center. On April 25, 2024, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found the defendants guilty and sentenced Alexander Snezhkov to six years and Lyubov Lizunova to three and a half years in a general regime colony, and Vladislav Vishnevsky to one and a half years of compulsory labor. At the same time, the court terminated Lizunova's criminal case on vandalism for graffiti due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing her to justice. November 25, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the sentence unchanged. In July 2025, it became known that another criminal case was opened against Alexander Snezhkov - for justifying terrorism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a conversation with a cellmate in the pre-trial detention center No. 1 of Chita in January 2025: it turned out that a prisoner collaborating with the administration was placed in his cell. He began to ask the anarchist what he was in for. Alexander told about his case and read them the text of his article with calls to set fire to military enlistment offices, this conversation was recorded on a voice recorder. Based on this recording, the FSB opened a new criminal case. 22 November 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military District Court found Alexander Snezhkov guilty and, by partially combining with the unserved part of the sentence from the first verdict, sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment, the first 2 years to be served in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime colony. Additionally, he was banned from engaging in activities related to posting materials on the internet for 4 years.
