Case Description
In Crimea on June 11, 2017, at the border with Ukraine, 32-year-old Ukrainian citizen, ATO volunteer, and participant in the "Automaidan" Vladimir Yakimenko was detained. For three days he was illegally held at customs, tortured, after which Yakimenko gave a confession that he had transported drugs across the border from Ukraine to occupied Crimea. March 28, 2018, the Supreme Court of Crimea sentenced Vladimir Yakimenko to 15.5 years in a strict regime colony. On June 19, 2019, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the sentence.
