On November 17, 2024, in the Kursk region, during hostilities, Ukrainian citizens, servicemen of military unit A-3283 (17th separate tank brigade), riflemen Igor Drebeda and Vladimir Golodnyak, as well as machine gunners Yevgeny Kopaygora and Vladimir Samorodchenko, were taken prisoner by Russian military. Criminal charges were brought against them for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. According to the Russian investigation, in November 2024, Drebeda, Golodnyak, Kopaygora, and Samorodchenko, as part of a unit of a Ukrainian armed formation, illegally invaded the territory of Korenevsky District in the Kursk Region. They "equipped observation and fire positions, blocked the village of Olgovka and prevented the evacuation of the civilian population. On June 5, 2025, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Igor Drebeda, Vladimir Holodnyak, Yevgeny Kopayhora, and Vladimir Samorodchenko guilty and sentenced each to 15 years in prison, the first 3 years they must serve in prison, and the remaining term in a strict regime correctional colony.
