Case Description
According to the investigation and the court, 29-year-old Viktoriya Tkachenko, a resident of Novoaidar in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, signed a contract for military service. After graduating from the training center, she was assigned to the "Aidar" battalion, where she performed her duties according to the terms of her contract. Women were accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization and sent to a pre-trial detention center. The exact date of detention is unknown. On December 12, 2023, Judge Gurgen Dovlatbekyan of the Southern Military District Court sentenced Tkachenko to 5 years in a penal colony-settlement. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. September 13, 2024, Viktoria Tkachenko was released during a prisoner exchange with Ukraine.
