A criminal case was opened against him for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. According to the Russian investigation, on September 9, 2024, Kirpichenko, armed with an AK-74 assault rifle and hand anti-personnel grenades, as part of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, illegally invaded the territory of the Russian Federation. While in the villages of Lyubimovka and Snagost in the Sudzhansky District of the Kursk Region, Kirpichnko "under the threat of using weapons, prevented the evacuation of civilians, repeatedly opened fire on Russian servicemen and local residents, and also kept them under armed control, including by mining road directions and areas of terrain." 3. On May 14, 2025, the 2nd Western District Military Court found Viktor Kirpichhenko guilty and sentenced him to 16 years in prison, with the first 3 years to be served in prison and the remainder in a strict regime correctional colony.
