He allegedly confessed to blowing up a sewage pumping station in December 2022. Already after the detention, the security forces believed that he was also involved in another explosion - on December 13, 2022, the man allegedly placed 3 homemade explosive devices under three supports of the "Mariupol-Berdiansk" power line, and detonated them. As a result, there was a power outage for all life support facilities in one of the city's microdistricts, affecting more than 10 thousand. 2. people were left without light. According to the Russian investigation, Bondarenko had previously taken photographs of a substation and a transmission tower, measured the thickness of the tower's metal, and passed the collected data to the Ukrainian Security Service. Bondarenko was accused of committing sabotage as part of an organized group, participating in a sabotage community, and illegally manufacturing explosive devices. On the time of the investigation, he was placed in a temporary detention center in Melitopol. On December 30, 2024, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Court found Viktor Bondarenko guilty and sentenced him to 22 years in a strict regime penal colony, 3 of which in prison.
