Meshcherskiy Valeriy Valerevich (Meshcherskiy Valeriy Valeriyovich)

Ukrainian military Valery Meshchersky was sentenced to 17 years in prison, with the first 5 years to be served in a prison, and the remainder in a strict regime correctional colony. He was found guilty of committing a terrorist act on the territory of the Kursk region (Part 2, paragraphs "a" and "v" of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the investigation, on October 1, 2024, he, as part of the Ukrainian army, invaded the territory of the Russian Federation, "took up a firing position in the area of Olgovka village, Korenevsky district, Kursk region, from which he used weapons, intimidated local residents and prevented their evacuation." During the hostilities, he was taken prisoner. Meshchersky serves as a rifleman in military unit A-3283 (17th separate tank brigade).
