On October 7, 2022, in Birobidzhan, Jewish Autonomous Oblast, geologist Valeriy Kachin was detained. In October 2025, it became known that another criminal case had been initiated against the scientist serving his sentence in IK-8 "Khokhryaki" in the Udmurt Republic." 3.
