A criminal case was opened against him for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. According to the Russian investigation, on the night of January 16, 2025, Valchuk, as part of a group of 10 servicemen in the "Kazak" armored car, illegally crossed the border of the Russian Federation in the Sudzhansky district and proceeded to the village of Nikolayevo-Daryino to block and hold it." 3. "On July 15, 2025, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Sergey Valchuk guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in prison. For the first 3 years he must serve in prison, and the remaining part of the punishment in a strict regime correctional colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
