According to the Russian investigation, on the night of January 16, 2025, Valchuk, as part of a group of 10 servicemen in the "Kazak" armored car, illegally crossed the border of the Russian Federation in the Sudzhansky district and proceeded to the village of Nikolayevo-Daryino to block and hold it." 3. Upon arrival at the location, he received an AK-45 assault rifle, ammunition for it, and two hand grenades, after which he, along with his fellow servicemen, set up observation and firing positions in the forest. He later "threatened the local population with the use of weapons, prohibited evacuation, participated in the disorganization of the activities of government bodies, and also monitored Russian servicemen and transmitted information about them."
