Case Description
Private Sergey Stokov, a grenadier of military unit A-3283 (17th separate tank brigade), was sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment, with the first three years to be served in prison and the remainder in a strict regime correctional colony. He was found guilty of committing a terrorist act on the territory of the Kursk region (part 2, paragraphs "a" and "v" of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the investigation, on September 18, 2024, Stokov, armed with an AK-74U assault rifle and F-1 grenades, entered the territory of the Russian Federation. On the same day, the investigation believes, the soldier set up an observation and firing position near the village of Pogrebki in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, from which he opened fire on Russian servicemen and civilians. On November 1, 2024, Russian military personnel took Stokov prisoner.
