Case Description
On January 28, 2025, in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai, 51-year-old resident of Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian citizen with forced Russian citizenship Sergey Maklakov was detained. State treason charges were brought against him. The details of the charges are unknown. The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On July 2, 2025, the Krasnodar Regional Court found Sergey Maklakov guilty and sentenced him to 13 years in a strict regime colony. 12 December 2025, the Third Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction changed the verdict, details are unknown.
