Case Description
1. In Lipetsk in September 2023, a local 42-year-old resident, Sergey Logunov, was detained on charges of state treason. According to the investigation, the man on his own initiative contacted a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and carried out assignments to collect and transmit information in Ukraine's interests - he filmed equipment at a military airfield, the aftermath of drone attacks on an industrial enterprise, transport and houses of Russian military personnel in a military garrison. The Lipetsk resident also allegedly traveled to Rostov-on-Don to film a meeting of unit commanders and tried to get a job at one of the enterprises in Lipetsk to gather information about production. The court sent Logunov to a pre-trial detention center for the duration of the investigation. On December 18, 2024, the Lipetsk Regional Court found Sergey Logunov guilty and sentenced him to 18 years in a strict regime penal colony. On March 19, 2025, the First Appellate Court of General Jurisdiction left the sentence unchanged.
