Case Description
On May 1, 2025, in the village of Balki in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, 59-year-old local resident, Ukrainian citizen, pensioner, and former employee of the Zaporizhzhia NPP Serhii Kovaliov was detained. He was accused of violating the curfew. Until September, the man was held in the local temporary detention center. In September 2025, he was charged with treason. The details of the charges are unknown. During the investigation, the pensioner was transferred to the Donetsk SIZO-1.
