Case Description
1. On August 20, 2024, local resident Sergey Fomov was detained in Chelyabinsk. He was accused of calling for terrorism. According to the investigation, Fomov publicly expressed his disagreement with "the internal and external policy pursued by the president," and expressed support for one of Ukraine's armed formations recognized as terrorist: on February 1, 2024, in the Telegram channel "Nadezhdin," Fomov posted a comment: "Hang Putin along with his accomplices and no nails! Move the capital to St. Petersburg, bury Lenin, turn the Kremlin into a museum of a terrible past, so that gallows and torture devices from the time of the insane dictator Ivashka stand around." On March 17, 2024, in the comments of the Telegram channel "Svoboda Rossii Movement" under a poll about whether subscribers went to the elections, Fomov allegedly left another comment: "Well done RDK, real men came to the Motherland..". During the investigation, the court placed the man in a pre-trial detention center. On August 12, 2015, the Central Military District Court found Sergey Fomov guilty and sentenced him to 5.6 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony and a ban on administering internet resources for 3 years.
