Case Description
In January 2023, security forces detained Sergei Borisov, a resident of Tver, in the Tver region. He was accused of attempted treason. According to the security forces, he planned to join one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: allegedly through the Internet Borisov maintained contact with a representative of the Ukrainian side, on the recommendation of which he studied the route to leave for Ukrainian territory, purchased elements of military equipment, uniforms and medical supplies. After the detention of Evgeny Borisov, he was sent into custody. On March 13, 2023, the Tver Regional Court found Sergey Borisov guilty and sentenced him to six years in a strict regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
