Case Description
In July 2022, in Yakutia, 50-year-old Semyon Aleksandrov was detained. He was accused of public calls for terrorism. According to the investigation, Alexandrov posted information about the work of the "Freedom of Russia" legion on the Telegram channel "Turkic World and Its Neighbors, which he created and administered. Thus, he persuaded Russians to join it in order to fight on the side of Ukraine. On July 25, 2022, the Yakutsk City Court sent Alexandrov to a pre-trial detention center. January 16, 2023, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found Semyon Alexandrov guilty and sentenced him to 3 years in a general regime colony. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force. On April 15, 2025, the Tagilstroevsky District Court of the Sverdlovsk Region satisfied the lawsuit of the administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, where Alexandrov was serving his sentence, and appointed the man administrative supervision after his release from the colony for 8 years."
