Case Description
In late April 2022, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case for the rehabilitation of Nazism against the former player of 'What? Where? When?" Rovshan Askerov. According to the investigation, Askarov published on his Facebook page knowingly false information that insults and discredits the memory of Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov. Askarov himself left Russia. He was put on the wanted list. On May 24, 2022, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow issued an arrest warrant for Askarov in absentia. Two other defendants in the case - Bogdan Andreev and Denis Mikhailenko - were released from punishment under the article on undergoing terrorist training, but were sentenced to four and three years conditionally respectively on the remaining charges. Askarova was recognized as a foreign agent in December 2022. He was fined three times for violating the rules of activity of foreign agents."
