Case Description
In April 2023, a search was conducted at the journalist and editor-in-chief of "Honest Korolyevsky!" All his equipment was confiscated and he was sent to a temporary detention center on charges of 'fakes' about the Russian army motivated by political hatred. The reason for the criminal prosecution was three posts published on VKontakte and the Telegram channel "Chastnoye Korolyovskoye!" "Publications reported on the bodies found in the Kyiv region after the retreat of Russian troops, on the UN report describing the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, and a news item with the statement by Sergey Shoigu about Russia's shortage of missiles. The next day, the Korolyov City Court of the Moscow Region chose a measure of restraint for him in the form of arrest. March 6, 2024, Judge Alexei Ganus of the Korolyov City Court of the Moscow Region found Roman Ivanov guilty and sentenced him to 7 years in prison. On May 13, 2025, Judge Svetlana Zhukova of the Moscow Regional Court left the verdict unchanged.
