A criminal case was opened against him for committing a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, resulting in significant damage. According to the Russian investigation, in August 2024, Yeremey illegally invaded Russian territory as part of Ukrainian units. On April 11, 2025, the 2nd Western Military District Court found Pyotr Yeremey guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison, with the first 3 years to be served in prison, and the rest of the term - in a strict regime correctional colony.
