Case Description
In the Republic of Karelia, no later than July 8, 2025, the FSB Directorate initiated a criminal case for state treason against a native of the region, the manager of the cultural space "Revolt Center" Pavel Andreyev. As part of this case, searches were conducted in Syktyvkar on July 8 at the "Revolt Center" and at the addresses of its employees. Searches in this case were also conducted with journalists and human rights defenders in at least 12 regions of Russia. The executive director of the 'Revolt Center' Daria Chernysheva was detained. Pavel Andreev was accused of high treason in favor of NATO countries, and Daria Chernysheva was accused of evading the fulfillment of "foreign agent" obligations. According to law enforcement's version, Pavel Andreyev since 2019 "for monetary reward provided assistance to representatives of foreign intelligence services" and "maintained secret contacts with agents of NATO countries.
