Case Description

In August 2022, journalist Alexandra Bayazitova and Telegram channel administrators Olga Arkharova and Inna Churilova were detained in Moscow. They were accused of extorting money from the vice president of a bank in a particularly large amount as part of an organized group. According to the investigation, Bayazitova, Arkharov, and Churilov administered a network of Telegram channels and offered the assistant to the vice president of Promsvyazbank Alexander Ushakov, for a fee, to remove negative information about him and also to establish a temporary "block on negativity.
