Case Description
In Voronezh in June 2022, a criminal case was opened against a local resident, former deputy of the Semiluksky District Council of the Voronezh Region from the CPRF, Nina Belyaeva, on charges of "fakes" about the Russian army. The reason for the criminal prosecution was Belyayeva's speech at a meeting of the council of deputies on March 22, 2022, in which she called Russia's actions in Ukraine a war crime and called for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against her for "fakes" for two phrases: "I consider what is happening to be a war crime, And there are no Nazis there." "The Investigative Committee later opened two more criminal cases against her under the article on calls for terrorist activities, due to an interview on April 5, 2022, with Ukrainian blogger Rostislav Kalatsinsky, in which Belyaeva said: "for Russia not to collapse, Putin must be removed from power. The girl is outside of Russia and has been placed on federal and international wanted lists. On June 27, 2022, the Leninsky District Court of Voronezh issued an arrest warrant for Belyaeva in absentia.
