Case Description
On September 26, 2024, in the city of Glazov, Udmurt Republic, a search was conducted at the home of 43-year-old local resident Nikolai Tokmantsev. He was accused of justifying terrorism. The reason for the criminal prosecution was a post from October 8, 2022, on "Vkontakte, which, according to the investigation, contained "justification for the terrorist act committed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the transport crossing over the Kerch Strait in 2022." For the duration of the investigation, Tokmantsev was released on his own recognizance. On January 23, 2024, the Central Military District Court found Nikolai Tokmantsev guilty and fined him 400 thousand. rubles and banned him from administering websites for two years. The court also ordered the destruction of the "instruments of the crime" - a tablet and a router. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
