Case Description
1. In Tomsk, a criminal case was opened against a 30-year-old local resident, Mikhail Ayda, on charges of calling for terrorism, participating in the activities of a terrorist organization, and treason. According to the investigation, Ayda, being a supporter of the Ukrainian paramilitary unit Legion "Freedom of Russia," used messengers to call on citizens to join its ranks and spoke positively about its activities. In addition, with the aim of providing assistance to a foreign state and undermining the goals of the special military operation, he published materials on the social network Twitter (X) calling for enrollment in drone operation courses conducted by this organization, providing contact channels. The man was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On October 15, 2025, the 2nd Eastern Military Court found Mikhail Ayda guilty and sentenced him to 14 years in prison, with the first 2 years to be served in prison and the remaining part of the sentence in a strict regime penal colony. In addition, he was sentenced to 1 year of restricted freedom and deprived of the right to engage in activities related to posting materials on the internet for 2 years.
