Case Description
In March 2022, a criminal case was opened in Moscow under the article on the dissemination of military "fakes" by a group of persons "with artificially created evidence of guilt" against Michael Naki and Ruslan Leviev, who regularly release summaries on YouTube about the course of hostilities in Ukraine." "The reason for the criminal prosecution was a video in which Naki and Leviev analyzed the results of the ninth day of Russia's war against Ukraine. Both Nakai and Leviev are outside of Russia. A woman was reported by the son-in-law of one of her daughters due to hostile relations. They were also put on the wanted list. On August 29, 2023, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow found Michael Naki and Ruslan Leviev guilty and sentenced both of them in absentia to 11 years in a general regime colony.
