Case Description
In Magadan in January 2024, a criminal case was opened for "failure to report a planned terrorist attack" against local resident Maria Zinovieva. According to the investigation, on September 19, 2023, during a personal conversation with her acquaintance Ekaterina Gazieva, Zinovieva received reliable information that she intended, on the orders of unidentified individuals acting in the interests of Ukraine, to commit arson of the building of the Military Commissariat of the Magadan Region. September 21, 2023 set fire to the warehouse premises of the military commissariat of the Magadan region. It is claimed that the arson was committed by 20-year-old Ekaterina Gazieva together with 34-year-old Sergey Malyuchenko. Allegedly, they did this on the orders of a 'Ukrainian curator' who offered 50 thousand. rubles, and also transferred 3.5 thousand to buy rags, bottles, and an incendiary mixture. According to the same day's personal conversation with Gazieva and Malyuchenko, Zinovieva allegedly learned that they were the ones who committed the arson, but did not report this to law enforcement agencies. On August 14, 2024, the Magadan City Court of the Magadan Region found Maria Zinovieva guilty and sentenced her to 3 years and 6 months in prison in a general regime colony and 1.5 years of restriction of freedom. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
