Case Description
In Mariupol, in the occupied part of the Donetsk region, no later than April 2022, 27-year-old Ukrainian citizen and serviceman of the "Azov" regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Maxim Rudy was taken prisoner by Russian military personnel. A criminal case was opened against him for participating in a terrorist community and undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities. The reason for the criminal prosecution was service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the nationalist "Azov" battalion, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. On February 2, 2026, the Central District Military Court found Maksim Rudya guilty, the size of the punishment is unknown.
