According to the investigation, in January 2023, Moskalov, through a messenger on the Internet, entered into cooperation with a representative of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and, having received a task, took a photograph near a military commissariat and sent it to his curator, and then, on the assignment of the same person, set fire to an object of transport infrastructure in order to undermine the economic security and defense capability of the Russian Federation. At the request of the investigation, the court placed the defendant in a pre-trial detention center. On February 10, 2025, the Kursk Regional Court found Maksim Moskalov guilty and sentenced him to 20.5 years of imprisonment, with the first 3 years to be served in prison and the remaining term in a strict regime colony, with a fine of 250 thousand rubles. rubles and a restriction of freedom for 1.5 years.
