Case Description
In Kazan in January 2025, a criminal case was initiated against Leonid Spirin, the editor-in-chief of the online publication "Grozny, for repeated "discrediting of the army." "The reason for the criminal prosecution was Spirin's comments 'Luhansk is occupied by the RF army'. Central District Court of Tolyatti fined Spirin under the article on "discrediting the army" in December 2023. The journalist himself is not in Russia. In March 2025, he was placed on the international wanted list.
