Case Description
On October 22, 2023, in the village of Konstantinovka, Melitopol district, occupied Zaporizhzhia region, 62-year-old local resident Larisa Gavrilyenko was detained. It is reported that during the detention, the woman was interrogated and tortured to force her to confess to working for the military intelligence of Ukraine. Subsequently, it turned out that a criminal case was opened against the woman for treason, participation in a terrorist community, preparation for a terrorist act, and illegal handling of explosive devices. According to the Russian security forces, Gavrilenko joined a terrorist community created by the Ukrainian security service. At the direction of a representative of the SBU, she received and kept two homemade explosive devices at home for the purpose of committing a terrorist act. According to the investigation, in October 2023 Gavrilenko allegedly placed an explosive device in a combat-ready state under the cab of a truck from the motor convoy of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in which military personnel were being transported. However, she was unable to carry out her plan as she was detained by officers of the FSB of Russia for the Zaporizhzhia region. June 10, 2025, the Southern District Military Court found Larisa Gavrilenko guilty and sentenced her to 16 years in a general regime colony with a 1.5-year restriction of freedom and a fine of 600 thousand. rubles
