Case Description
On June 26, 2024, a search was conducted in the village of Krasnoye, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, at the home of a local 31-year-old resident, Konstantin Ledkov. During the search, security forces confiscated Ledkov's laptop, after which they handcuffed him and took him for questioning. The next day, on June 27, the Investigative Committee for the Arkhangelsk Region and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug reported the opening of a criminal case against Ledkov for repeated discrediting of the Russian army, calls for activities aimed against state security, and repeated propaganda of Nazi symbols. According to the Investigative Committee, Ledkov shouted "slogans of a Nazi organization" in a bar in the village of Krasnoye, for which a protocol was drawn up against him for propaganda of Nazi symbols. As calls for activities against the security of Russia, Ledkov was charged with a certain video allegedly published by him on social networks. The Investigative Committee did not specify what was said in the video. Earlier, in September 2022, Ledkova was fined in a case of an administrative offense under the article on discrediting the Russian army due to graffiti with the words 'No to war' on the wall of a building. On January 25, 2024, Ledkov was fined under an administrative article on the public display of Nazi symbols — according to law enforcement officials, Ledkov published a stylized lightning bolt (the "Sig" rune) on the epaulettes of a tunic, three stripes with a stripe, the rank of "Hauptsturmfuhrer" or "Obersturmfuhrer" of the SS, and an iron cross on his VKontakte page. In court, the man claimed that 'the information he posted was taken from historical websites and is used by him for educational purposes'. Before the measure of restraint was chosen, Ledkov was placed in a temporary detention center. On June 30, 2024, the court sent the defendant in the case to a pre-trial detention center. On May 29, 2025, the Naryan-Mar City Court of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug found Konstantin Ledkov guilty and sentenced him to five and a half years in a general regime colony. On October 13, 2025, the Court of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug left the verdict unchanged.
