Case Description
In December 2025, a 30-year-old citizen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Hayden William Davis, was taken prisoner by Russian servicemen in the occupied part of Donetsk region. He was accused of participating in an armed conflict as a mercenary. According to the investigation, in August 2024, Davis arrived in the city of Ternopil, where he signed a contract with the International Legion of the Defense of Ukraine. He underwent military training, received personal firearms, and for material compensation, as a soldier, participated in combat operations against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic. On December 18, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic found Hayden William Davis guilty and sentenced him to 13 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
