Case Description
1. In the Altai Krai, no later than May 2024, a criminal case was initiated against a local 17-year-old resident, student Ivan Varpakhovsky, on charges of aiding terrorist activity and participating in the activities of a terrorist organization. According to the investigation, the young man was distributing leaflets calling for joining the 'Freedom of Russia' legion, and attempted to involve acquaintances in a terrorist formation controlled by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. It is unknown what preventive measure was chosen. On February 10, 2025, the 1st Eastern Military District Court found Ivan Varpakhovsky guilty and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment. The regime of the colony is unknown. On May 13, 2025, the Appellate Court changed the verdict, details are unknown.
