Kryukov Ivan Aleksandrovich

In October 2024, 48-year-old local resident Ivan Kryukov was detained in St. Petersburg. He was accused of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization. According to the investigation, Kryukov, condemning the conduct of the "special military operation," being an opponent of the current authorities of the Russian Federation and guided by a mercenary motive, joined the "Freedom of Russia" legion group on Telegram. He received a questionnaire from the channel administrator, in which he expressed his consent to participate in the organization. According to law enforcement officers, Kryukov wrote in this group: "I wish to join your movement against Putinism. I am against the war. There is a desire to be involved in overthrowing the regime. I filled out the questionnaire. Give feedback." After that, at the request received from the channel administrator, Kryukov allegedly rendered the ballot invalid at the last presidential election in the Russian Federation, writing "RDK is nearby" on the back. Carrying out another assignment, Kryukov allegedly sent the legion schemes of power transmission lines on the territory of the Russian Federation. After that, he sent them a photo report to the representative. Further, according to the investigation, Kryukov proactively maintained contact with the legion and offered his assistance in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation. Kryukov himself claimed that he did everything he was accused of out of mercenary motives. During the investigation, the man was placed in custody. On February 7, 2025, the 1st Western Military District Court found Ivan Kryukov guilty and sentenced him to 11 years of imprisonment, with 3 years to be served in prison and 8 years in a strict regime penal colony. On April 23, 2025, the Appellate Military Court left the verdict in force.
