Case Description

In April 2022, in Feodosia, annexed Republic of Crimea, a local 42-year-old resident, human rights activist, and citizen journalist Irina Danilovich was detained. The FSB claims that Danilovich made a device from 200 grams of explosives and medical needles and kept it in the lining of an eyeglass case. Danilovich herself denies guilt and claims that explosives were planted on her during a search by FSB officers when she refused to confess to treason and cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine. The woman was sent to the SIZO. On February 28, 2022, the Feodosia City Court of the Republic of Crimea found Irina Danilovich guilty and sentenced her to 7 years in a general regime colony. June 29, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea reduced the sentence by 1 month.
