Yakovenko Igor Viktorovich

In the Krasnodar Territory, no later than May 2025, Igor Yakovenko, a local resident, was detained. He was accused of preparing to participate in the activities of an organization that, in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, has been recognized as terrorist. According to the investigation, on May 28, 2025, Yakovenko began corresponding with a representative of the Freedom of Russia Legion, expressed a desire to join the organization and travel to Ukraine. Yakovenko sent a pre-prepared questionnaire for joining the organization to the representative of the "LSR. For the duration of the investigation, the defendant was placed in a pre-trial detention center. On October 3, 2025, the Southern Military District Court found Igor Yakovenko guilty and sentenced him to 5 years in a strict regime penal colony, with the first 2 years to be served in prison. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
