Case Description
In the village of Otradnoye in the occupied part of the Donetsk region on June 11, 2025, a 41-year-old Ukrainian citizen, a soldier of military unit A-4884 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Igor Skubak, was taken prisoner by Russian military personnel. He was accused of killing two people on the grounds of political and ideological hatred, as well as cruel treatment of the civilian population and the use of prohibited means and methods in an armed conflict. According to the investigation, on June 10, 2025, the battalion commander gave an illegal order to destroy two captured Russian servicemen." On the same day, Skubak, following orders, led the prisoners of war to a trench in the forest plantation "Sinitsa" between the settlements of Otradnoye and Komar, where he shot them with an assault rifle. On December 10, 2025, the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic found Igor Skubak guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
